Founder & Children's Residential Recruitment Specialist, SCN Recruitment
Craig began his career in sales and service straight out of education, quickly recognising that exceptional service is the key driver for successful sales. In 2003, he discovered recruitment and never looked back. Starting as a temporary consultant in the industrial sector, he progressed through commercial and education recruitment before finding his passion within the health and social care sector.
After becoming the top consultant for a national recruitment agency, Craig moved into leadership and later helped establish a successful temporary social care recruitment business. These experiences shaped his belief in personalised, relationship driven recruitment, something many agencies overlook.
Craig eventually found his true calling in permanent recruitment for children’s residential care, where safer recruitment, values, and cultural fit matter just as much as experience. He founded SCN Recruitment to offer a specialist, service built on traditional recruitment principles: listening properly, understanding people, and delivering genuine value to both candidates and providers.
Today, Craig partners with Children’s Residential Care providers throughout the UK to build safe, stable and highly effective teams, using deep compliance knowledge, a safeguarding‑led mindset and a strong understanding of Ofsted expectations. But Craig’s true expertise lies in working with people — building trust, communicating honestly, and operating with integrity at every stage of the recruitment process.
With a background rooted in high‑level customer service and two decades of recruitment experience, Craig brings a people‑first approach to every partnership. He believes that great recruitment is built on listening properly, understanding individuals, and delivering a service that feels personal, supportive and genuinely valuable.
He supports providers in securing Registered Managers, Deputy Managers, Seniors and Residential Support Workers, while helping professionals find the right long‑term home for their skills and values.
